We’re always looking for little brain teasers and puzzles that will get kids involved, and that even puzzle aficionados will enjoy. Two-dimensional puzzles can be a lot of fun, but the three-dimensional puzzles can be a blast. Toss in an educational element by creating a globe, and you have Ravensburger’s The Earth three-dimensional puzzle. This is a 540 piece snap-together globe puzzle, built to come together without glue, so that kids from ages 12 and up can safely work on assembling this kit.
Overall impressions are good. The pieces are numbered, with arrows and other indicators that help you out through the tough spots. The individual pieces fit together well, and when they say that this puzzle needs no glue, they are correct; though again, for some of the harder parts if you don’t intend to do this more than once you may want to glue them to make it easier. There are a few complaints out there about missing pieces, so like any puzzle, check your box when you get it! Otherwise, this puzzle is a great way to spend an afternoon, or a few hours working away and killing time.
